Welcome to St Teresa's Special School Website

St Teresa's is a Special School in the East Galway catchment area which was founded in September 2008, under the patronage of Ability West. The school caters for pupils from 4 to 18 years of age. We also have a preschool class for children with Autism. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all our children whose needs are best met in this setting.

We offer a full educational curriculum which is underpinned and supported by a multi- disciplinary team of specialists. We adopt a holistic approach and create programmes that cater for the specific needs of each individual child.

We cater for children with special needs in the following areas:

1. Moderate Intellectual difficulties with Autism;
2. Complex needs or multiple physical disabilities;
3. Severe to Profound intellectual disabilities with or without complex needs;
4. Children who qualify for the pre-school Autism Unit.
